Artist Statement
I fear the power of the ordinary—the endless repetition that dulls meaning, leaving life dim and filled with worn-out days: A world without adventure or heroism, moves to the rhythm of morning alarms, work schedules and traffic jams, leaving little room for the extraordinary..
My work
explores the contradictions of everyday life: how repetition can erode meaning,
yet also ground us. I am drawn to the tension between the mundane and the
miraculous, the weight of boredom and dissatisfaction, and the restless human
ambition to create, achieve, find meaning.
Women’s lives, particularly those of housewives, are central to my exploration. Immersed in domestic spaces, they bear the weight of being the unseen caretaker of everything that is ordinary while performing the ultimate act of creation—giving life itself..
